PSG has sounded a stern warning to Barcelona concerning a potential move for Kylian Mbappe in the future. The French giant are are willing to let Neymar leave at the end of the season in order to keep Mbappe at the club.
However, Barcelona have shown no interest in Mbappe and have made Neymar their top priority this summer after they failed to bring back the Brazilian last summer.
Barcelona are hoping they could seal the deal and bring back the player this summer following his dramatic move away from the club in 2017.
Neymar has been outstanding for PSG since his move to the club, but injuries have not helped him in playing consistently for them especially in times when he is needed most, like in the return leg of the UEFA Champions League match against Manchester United last season.
Beside that, there’s been reports of his rift with PSG’s President, Nasser AL Khelafi, as the player refuse all approach of a new deal. Now PSG are forced to cut their losses and let Neymar go at the end of the summer. But they’ve also made it known that he won’t be cheap as they have splashed a £148 million price tag on the player.
Barcelona are in a pole position to sign him back after he forced a move away from the club and was sold for a world-record fee of £198m.
Barcelona regretted his move away from the club, but the player was hell bent on leaving even after players like Messi, Pique, Xavi, Iniesta and even his dad warned him against it. But the thought of escaping Lionel Messi’s shadow and having a platform where he can shine alone overcrowded his thought and since then things has not been easy for him as he has been over shadowed by the brilliant performances of Mbappe who seems not to stop anytime soon.
Neymar’s move to PSG can be said to be a disappointment in a sporting view. The player have been absent from the Balon’dor top five since his move and has also failed to reach the semi-final stage of the Champions League.
A series of soap opera’s last summer of the player trying to come back to Camp Nou never came to fruition due to PSG’S unrealistic demands of players to be traded in the deal in which the likes of Dembele, Todibo and Rakitic were mentioned. But this time around, PSG have opened the door for a potential exit for the player this summer.
However, Barcelona are less concerned of the £148m PSG are demanding for the player as there will also be a massive clear outs of players this summer. Barcelona plan is to execute the deal swiftly so that other targets can be focused on without any drama.
PSG are currently trailing to Borussia Dortmund in their Champions League Knockout tie, and if the French side are eliminated from the competition, then barca will begin talks with PSG for his transfer.
Neymar is deemed as a good replacement for Messi. The club see him as an important player with great qualities that they are in need of. Despite the player’s huge weekly wages, and actual transfer fee, considering the delicate situation of the club’s overall financial situation, they are still keen on having him back.
PSG are not worried about his departure though, because they see Mbappe as a young talented player with a great future ahead of him and are doing everything possible to keep him at the club forever.
Despite neymar’s desire to return to the club that brought him to europe, one slight concern surrounds his legal case with his former club. The player is seeking £5.6m in unpaid contingency fees, taking his total claims against the Catalan side to £33m.
These court cases will be treated definitely before his move so brace yourself for another drama series this summer.
