Kanye West Indicates Interest For Office In 2020.

Though he hasn’t taken any step to register yet, the business mogul has said he will run for office later this year.

2020 is full of surprises and it’s definitely not the kind one looks forward to. Keeping with this year’s spirit to constantly shock us, Kanye West has decided to run for the president in the 2020 US election. The renowned rapper recently made this weird declaration in an apparent challenge to go head-to-head with Donald Trump, someone West has been a vociferous supporter of. Taking to Twitter, the 43-year-old wrote: We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future. I am running for president of the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ! #2020VISION

The father of four chose the American independence day to make the surprise announcement, however, it’s unclear whether he has filed any official paperwork to be on the state election ballot. It doesn’t appear as though the business mogul actually has any intentions of running America’s highest office as the polling day is just four months away, on November 3. He would have to register with the Federal Election Commission, then present a campaign platform before collecting enough signatures to get on the November ballot. The star has already missed deadlines in several states to file as an independent candidate.

But there are still some states where the deadline to add independent candidates to the ballot is yet to pass. So, yes there’s a chance that he is serious about this and if reality TV star and businessman Donald Trump could have won the White House in 2016, then perhaps Americans may be okay with the idea of having Kim Kardashian as the first lady or maybe not. The 21-time Grammy award winner’s sudden declaration created a frenzy through the internet as many began trolling him and his wife immediately. You may be the only person more needy and insecure than our current president, wrote John Pavlovitz.

Some even shared the theory that West might be doing this to help Trump win this year’s election by taking away voters from Biden. OBVIOUS β€œPLAN” West is a Trump supporter. This stunt is likely a pact between Trump & West to try to pull votes from Biden. Who is the likely focus? Black voters. It’s an insult to black voters to think they would automatically vote for West solely based on race, shared MURRAY. Kanye just announced he is running for President in 2020. The goal is to take away black voters from Biden, handing Trump a victory. This is by design. Also note, Elon Musk was very quick to endorse, noted user Kerry Davidson.

The ‘Stronger’ singer previously paid a visit to the White House to meet Trump along with his wife and discuss prison reform. During one bizarre meeting in 2018, West was seen wearing a red ‘Make America Great Again’ cap while using words like “motherfucker” and “infinite amounts of universe,” reports The Guardian. Furthermore, he revealed that Trump made him feel like Superman, and to express this feeling he even hugged the President and declared, “I love this guy right here.” When asked if West was thinking about taking part in the future presidential candidate he replied, “Only after 2024. Let’s stop worrying about the future. All we really have is today. We just have today.”

Trump was also asked if he saw West as a potential presidential candidate. He said, “Could very well be.” Apart from Trump’s support, West was backed by his wife Kim Kardashian who responded to his latest tweet with an American flag. Even Elon Musk, the chief executive of electric-car maker Tesla, took this opportunity to endorse the singer. You have my full support! wrote Musk, who is well known for his eccentric outbursts. Well, this indeed isn’t the first time West has floated the idea of running for the presidency. During the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, he first made the mention while ending his acceptance speech for the Video Vanguard Award, according to CNN. Although he said he would run in 2020 then, in January 2019 he tweeted “2024” revealing his delay in the plan.
